    Somebody buy this for me!

I ran across this on Dooce . . . well, sorta, but anyway, and I saw it and i thougth

    THAT'S AWESOME !!!

I need one.  It's only $16.99.  Anybody wanna buy me one?  X-large please.  I want it so bad!!!  I had to post first, I may buy it for myself later.  Unless one of my lovely readers buys it for me first, hint hint hint.   (click here if the picture below disappears)

I Wish Somebody Would Do Something About How Fat I Am (W)

    This one's not bad either.

You Learn Something New and Depressing Every Day

The hits just keep on comin'

So, a few weeks back I told you about my Job Offer from George Clooney.  Well, the hits just keep on comin'.  I'm not entirely sure why, but a lot of the spam e-mail I get on my work account CRACKS ME UP!!! So, here is another example of the lovely spam I get to browse through every day.

    From: Symptom Sickness
Subject:  We are ready to give you a loan

Ummmm, what??  Do I want a loan from a sickness?  If it is a money loan, why are you symptom sickness?  What kind of sickness, greed?  Uninhibited ambition?  Not sure.  The fact that they appear to be completely unrelated made me smile and think of you, my loyal readers.  I had to share.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, I browse through my spam mail just to make sure something real didn't get mis-filed, so to speak.  Plus, it's the work e-mail so I really want to make sure that nothing important gets deleted by accident.  I don't click on most of them I just browse through to make sure the names and titles don't look like something that really IS for us.  Ok, that's enough for today.

    I found a DREAM job!

So, I ran across this headline on my msn that said "10 Jobs for TV Junkies."  Of course, I just had to see what it said.  Well, most of them would require a move and lots and lots of hard work (read: 1000x more work than I'm willing to consider) to get into the field.  But, there was this one.  And, it would be perfect for me!

    Broadcast Captioner
What they do: Provide captioning for offline productions, including pre-recorded television programs or movies, or for real-time captioning, such as live news broadcasts.
What it pays: The annual salary starts at $35,000, and may earn between $60,000 and $120,000.

Not only do I  TV, BUT, I'm also a crazy fast typist (one of the few cases where an OCD Tourette's issue comes in REALLY handy).  I could totally do real-time captioning AND that's WAY more lucrative than regular offline.  However, downside (you knew there had to be one, didn't you?) is that for many of them you have to already have stenography training because the programs that caption use stenography shorthand instead of regular keyboards.  I've looked into this in the past actually.  I should look again.  If it doesn't take too long, I could take this on as a second job and keep the day job and like triple my salary or something!!  Wouldn't that be rockin'!?  I think so.

This is also mentioned here on CNN.  Although this does point out that it can take 3 years of training and $18,000 investment in equipment.  Oh, well, yet another pipe dream to add to the pile.    Sounded like a good idea for awhile.  Ok, I'm off to dream about it for awhile.

    Superfantastic Theory!

An old college friend, Lori, has a blog, "How are you today?  I'm Superfantastic."  She put forth this theory that explains in whole the workings of the female mind.  highly amusing, frighteningly accurate.  Go read, you'll thank me.  Especially if you have a Y chromosome.  Thanks for the insight Lori!

    Sledding anyone?

Now that I finally have high speed internet (yes, I finally got my comp hooked to the network), I can upload videos that I've had on the computer forever.  Here is the first installment.

    Obsessive much?

So, I've been using SparkPeople (see link upper left of this/home page) on my weigh-loss journey for 6+ months.  And, I love it.  But, then I see these stories on MSN of people who've lost weight etc.  The first person has gastric bypass.  Personally, I think that gastric bypass is used about 80% more often than it really should be.  But, no one listens to me and, more importantly, no one is asking my opinion of it.  But then we have the people who go from obsessing about food (or stuffing down feelings or whatever got you fat) to obsessing about the gym or some exercise or something.  Take this guy:
He is the current story on msn.  (click here to read) I'll grant you those washboard abs look pretty amazing, but I'd rather enjoy more of my life than spend that much time in the gym.  He does say in his article that for awhile he worked out twice a day but now works out 4x a week focusing on one muscle group.  That's great. good for you.  But, could we shoot for a more average look?  The average guy does NOT have abs like that.  Half the weight-lifters at the local gym don't even have abs like that!  An overly intense focus on exercise to the detriment of other more worthy, worthwhile and fulfilling parts of life just annoys me.  Seeing his picture made me want to write.  Ok, I've written.

And, I have NEWS!!!!  I'm getting DSL tonight!!!  Woo Hoo!!!!!!  VERY EXCITED!!!  Hopefully I'll be posting a lot more now!!  Just think of all the funny things I can tell you if it doesn't take me 5 minutes just to get online, 5 minutes to load up my page, 10 minutes to write it up and 5 minutes to scream at the computer because the dial-up wouldn't load the page right and now it won't post!
    VERY EXCITED!!!

    Remote post . . .

And then there was Remote Posting! I just got an email from MSN saying I
could post to my blog from my e-mail addresses. So, here is my first try at
that. We'll see if it works.
